Breaking: Here We Go NFL Owner To Be Announces Plan Sign Colin Kaepernick as Quarterback

Kirsters Baish| It didn’t take long for washed up hip-hop artist Sean “Diddy” Combs to jump after Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson made the announcement that he had plans to sell the team. Combs explained to Twitter that he had plans to buy the NFL franchise.

Combs also stated that he would be signing former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick after buying the team and “put him in the running” to be the starter of the team in the 2018 season.

Combs tweeted on Sunday, “I would like to buy the @Panthers. Spread the word.”

Combs then tweeted again to explain his reasoning. He stated that “there are no majority African American NFL owners.”

He went on to expand on his claims in a video that he posted to his Instagram account.

Diddy stated, “I believe it’s time to turn the franchise over to new ownership,” reading from current owner of the Panthers, Richardson’s statement.

Combs then stated, “Well I need to send a message out to everybody in the beautiful state of North Carolina. I will be the best NFL owner that you can imagine.”

The rapper went on to speak about his plans involving Colin Kaepernick. The former 49ers quarterback has been unsigned since his contract with the 49ers ended in March of this year.

Combs stated, “I will immediately address the Colin Kaepernick situation and put him in the running for next year’s starting quarterback. It’s just competition baby. It’s just competition.”

That’s not all of it. The rapper went on to say, “I will have the best halftime show, the best selection of music and we will win Super Bowl after Super Bowl.” He then ended the video.

It seemed as though Colin Kaepernick was supportive of Combs’s plan. He posted a tweet to his own account saying “I want in on the ownership group! Let’s make it happen!”

Then, Combs tweeted again to make sure everyone knew he was serious about the matter.

This isn’t the first time that Sean Combs has shown an interest in buying into an NFL franchise. He sees the investment opportunity.

Back in 2013 Combs was quoted telling Bloomberg, “I have aspirations to become — it will happen — to become the first African-American majority owner. Not having a small stake but actually owning an NFL team.”

He went on, “I think it’s time for that. A majority of the players in the NFL are African-American but there are no African-American owners. So that’s one of my dreams.”

Now that Richardson is ready to sell the Panthers after accusations of sexual misconduct were made against him, Combs could potentially have the chance to fulfill his lifelong dream.

The New York Daily News reported that Combs may have an issue with getting the money together that will be needed to buy the team. His net worth was estimated by Forbes to be around $820 million. The Panthers are currently valued at around $1 billion.

NBA point guard Stephen Curry jumped in on the possible action as well. The Charlotte native and huge Panthers fan explained that he supported Combs.

“I want in!” Curry tweeted, to which Combs responded, “Holla at me, let’s get it!”
